MEETING KIDS WHERE THEY ARE
Partnering with parents, we assess students' strengths, learning styles, areas that need improvement, and more. In every lesson, we teach the way each child learns best, provide useful feedback, and reteach as needed. We are sensitive to the physical, emotional, and educational well-being of our students.
OUR REASON:
An environment that feels physically and emotionally safe is conducive to every child's education. Parents have told us again and again that public schools do not provide the climate and attention their kids need to be successful in school. Small face-to-face classrooms and caring teachers ensures that Futures Academy can meet those needs.
Futures Academy has been a God send for my family this 20-21 school year. They rescued my son from dull computer-based-only curriculum by providing a hands-on, enjoyable, and exciting curriculum that made him enthusiastic about learning. How does it work, exactly?
PART TIME HOURS
Students spend two full days on campus each week. Most of this time will be spent on direct instruction from a real teacher, group collaboration, hands-on lessons. They should also expect guest speakers, engaging science labs, age- and level-adjusted events, and continuous teacher oversight.
FULL TIME EDUCATION
The non-attendance days are for projects, homework, studying, and processing lessons from the day before. Home assignments may include standard homework, science projects, writing assignments, creativity, or reading.
COURSES THAT MATTER:
Course load is determined by staff evaluation, prior school records, and parental suggestion. We offer some electives, and the shortened hours allow students to be involved in outside academic, athletic, recreational, and artistic enrichment. In most cases, successful participation in these activities can be included on the high school transcript.

Parents and parental figures are the most powerful and influential people in a child's life. Decisions regarding their education is ultimately yours. Futures Academy is here to hear your concerns then provide guidance, support, and the classroom experience for your child.
NO TESTING!
No STAAR, no benchmarks, no EOCs. Just normal tests at the end of units to make sure they ‘got it.’ Some of them won’t even be on paper!
